Wordpress problems

I've got a couple of Wordpress sites up that have been easy to build and maintain so far. However, I recently added new posts to two of these sites and experienced the same problem with both sites. I created new articles in Word and pasted the articles into the post visual edit window. There's two issues. First, when I switch over to the html tab to take a look, no html code has been generated. Secondly, when I paste in the font it defaults to what I believe is #11 Times New Roman. I've never had to screw around with the theme or any code to get the font to show up the way I want. I've always just been able to paste it in and it sticks. Likewise, i've never had an instance where the html wasn't generated instantly. I've tried deactivating all the plug ins and that didn't help.     Since that is an admin side problem, it can't really be debugged by looking at your frontend pages.

    Most often what causes those types of problems is something is messing with TinyMCE, which is the JavaScript that creates the WYSIWYG post editor in WordPress. Often, it is script that is loaded by a plugin (as you've said, you disabled those) or sometimes even the theme, if the theme has any admin side support.

    I recommended rolling back to the default WordPress theme, and seeing if that resolves the issue. If it does, that is where your problem resides, your theme. Otherwise, I recommend Googling "Word import problems with TinyMCE Wordpress" or something of that nature and narrowing down the timeline to 24 hours.

    You can try not to paste your articles from Word and use any other text editor...then see what happens

    The best way to avoid this problem is not to paste directly from Word into WordPress. Instead, paste from Word into Notepad and then copy from Notepad and paste into WordPress.

    Because Notepad is a plain text editor it strips out all the formatting junk that Word uses. If you want to use fancy formatting in your posts, it's usually better to just add the formatting directly in WordPress.
