I have a website that has been around for almost 10 years and I'm looking to transfer it over to wordpress however I obviously don't want to loose any of the current Page Rank or Rankings on the pages.

I am needing some information on how to do this properly to be honest below is a few examples of the problems I have:

www{dot}example{dot}com/cheap-locks.php is an existing page and its got a PR4 and ranks for multiple searches what would happen if I transferred to this wordpress and the url was now www{dot}example{dot}com/cheap-locks it obviously doesn't have the .php at the end of the URL will this matter? Could it affect my rankings and PR?

I shall be keeping the META Tags etc all the same and will be keeping the URL extensions the same however it obviously wont say .php at the end.

Any information would be great.

Many Thanks

Hey estz, you need to redirect the page using 301 redirect to notify search engine(Google) that you have moved to new page. From my experience, it will not affect your rankings and PR.

You can add the 301 redirect in php file or htaccess level. Take a look at this code: [PHP] PHP & htaccess redirect - Pastebin.com

    Hope helps
