Clueless Person needs help!!

Ok so most 'make money websites' have a sales page a payment page and a download page.
Now how do you make sure the downlaod page is secure so that no one can go and acess the product without first paying?
I know this is a dumb question

    Theres a couple ways to do it.

    You can:

    1. Buy some download page protection software like DLGuard and the like.

    2. Create a password protected directory using your cpanel and htaccess and give the password to buyers via email after they purchase.

    3. Buy and install a membership script like LFM or BFM and integrate it with your payment processor so that buyers get access to the membership site. ( And hide your content, products, etc inside the site )

    4. Email the product directly to the buyer after confirmation of their purchase and on the thankyou page say 'Your product has been emailed, check your email inbox now )

      There is no such thing as a dumb question, the only dumb question is the one that was never asked.

      Your best protection is through securing your pages as mentioned above. if you intend to use a password protected directory. Send them to a thank you page and inform them there to check their inbox/spam folder for an e-mail.

      Tell them this e-mail contains the link, username and password so they can access the page. Apart from this a membership or download protection will be your best option.

    Hi Zach,
    There are good suggestions above...

    I personally use my own system that I built basically if paypal does not return what I asked it to then the download is never generated. My downloads are self generated with a generic name from a original master file that nobody can access and the generic one is only on the server for 1 hour. After 1 hour the download is auto deleted using cron.
