Hello Robert,

These are my suggestions.

1. It is better to show post Excerpt in the home page rather than showing entire post. Because otherwise when you add more blog posts the home page may become too long.

2. Overall the design looks very professional, some small suggestions.

* It will be better if you can slightly modify the post headings so that it will standout. May be change the color (make it little more darker).

* You can modify the author bio box on the sidebar so that it will get more attention. Make it little more larger and add few more sentances.

3. My personal suggestion - consider buying some Facebook likes. I know you won't get any use from those likes. But our world is populated in such a way that there are more followers than leaders. Most people want to become followers rather than leaders. Consider our this example; no one is going to enter those empty stores till someone else enters first. So having very low number of Facebook like (it is currently 1 in your page) may prevent others from liking your page. So consider buying about 30 - 50 likes

The layout is good but i think the sum of articles makes it quite a bit cluttered. Why not make some categories and or choose another layout that the articles will not appear too long.

I suggest you to have a bit more contrast. Don't use an intimidating font for "HI I am ROBERT". The continue reading button has some sort of line on its bottom edge. Otherwise, the site is cool.

I've done a lot of customizing to it, probably would have been easier to go with thesis theme. But the woothemes guys have been very good with customer support.

I thought they looked unique? The H1's look alright in Firefox and Chrome. The shadows don't seem to display in IE.

Any other suggestions to make the H1's look unique?

Loved the idea of your site so much I now have it bookmarked and now expect frequent posts, haha. The design is pretty decent so far, I'm not really a fan of the light blue and I hate obvious gradients but otherwise, pretty good.

Well you either have some major speed issues or you sever is down i can get the site in the browser but nothing comes up. Ok sorry got there after about 5 minutes, its a little bland maybe to much white and blue mix. Plus i would sort out the speed issues first.

Maybe you can make your homepage to display just an excerpt and a featured image for each post and add a "read more"button.Right now the read more button is there but also you have all the post content displayed.

I think it looks great, although I do agree that you might want to put excerpts on the home page instead of the entire posts. It seems like a lot of content in one place to me. People have very little attention spans nowadays and would rather see short bits of information.

I emailed Host Gator and they tell me that it's not a server issue and that it must be an issue with the site itself. Either the theme or plugins. Unfortunately, this is starting to venture outside of my range of technical skills.

Can anyone check this page out and point me in the right direction on finding the problem with my load times?

I think it's a nice clean site - the light greys and blues are very airy and calming which I think is relevant. I also found the content very interesting and subscribed to your RSS! - I too expect frequent posts ;-)

Hi Robert,

It is nice to read you story but in my opinion if you want to let your blog succeed you have to change a couple of things.

1) As many other said, don't display the entire post. Show excerpts only. It will look much nicer and professional when you will have hundreds of posts on your blog.

2) What do you want your visitors to do? Just read? Or do you want them to sign up for email updates / newsletter? In your niche I would try to collect some email address.

3) If you decide to collect emails than consider putting at the top of your homepage a "feature box" with a couple of bullet points describing the benefits your readers will get by signing up to your newsletter, a call to action and of course an opt-in form to your newsletter. By doing so, you should move the navigation menu on the top right side of the page.

4) Add an opt-in form in the sidebar above your "Hi, I'm Robert".
Add an opt-in form at the end of each post with the option to subscribe to your RSS too.
Add an opt-in form in the middle of your About Page.

5) Remove the Categories widget from the sidebar. I personally don't like to see it.

6) Once you implement the opt-in forms, you should also add on your footer a "Privacy Policy" and a "Terms of Service" link.

I have one question for you. What was / is your launch strategy for your blog?

Ok, its a blog. You can fiddle with the design as much as you like, but as long as it is not a total ugly mess, the content is the most important part.
What makes your content different from the other thousands of sites all writing the same thing using the same clichés?

All I see is a big wall of text with uninspiring stock images.

It seems to me you read all these books on "thinking yourself rich" and thought "I must take action, I will regurgitate all this stuff I have been reading on my blog, and hope something happens"

Try to take a unique angle on your content, present it in a way that is interesting. Why would I want to read through all that text when it has all been said before - and more eloquently.

How about doing some interviews with people who have used these methods to find success?
Case studies of real world examples? Get a video camera and go and speak with business owners, people that inspire you. Find examples of people acheiving their goals and document that... I am sure you are a creative guy and can think of a hundred ideas like that.

But please, please, do not get lost in the sea of "bloggers blogging about blogging to get rich"!
