Need help in the making of a site...

Hi - We all started there so don't fret, stick at it and you'll soon have it all worked out

As you're starting from scratch I would find a good course or training program that teaches you the fundamentals - there are loads of very good ones on here that can have you up and running (making some money) in a few weeks

Before choosing one make sure you do a bit of research on the person doing it to make sure they are reputable.

Nobody in this game makes it overnight (no matter what you may hear) its a continual learning curve until you hit the sweet spot.

Finally - Never give up! There is lots of success to be had in online marketing you just need to keep learning and stick at it

This is what you need to learn and the order in which to do it:
1. Pick a niche or subject you are really interested in (this is important - if you are not interested you will give up too early).
2. Check if there are any products out there for your niche. If you can't find any, then it is either because your niche is so small no one else is interested, or it is simply not a buying niche. It doesn't matter what the products are as long as there are some (look on Amazon, Ebay etc.)
3. Choose a relevant name for your business. Tie it into your niche. Check if the name is available as a .com domain name. If not, add a word to the end of it and check again (eg. www.paintingyourhouse.com or www.paintingyourhousediy.com).
4. Register the domain through a service such as namecheap.com or godaddy.com (or any one of a thousand other places).
5. Buy some hosting for the domain. Many of the companies you buy the domain from will also supply the hosting, but don't pay too much.
6. OR open a free site and domain from places like wordpress.com (if you don't have any money) or you want to experiment without cost.
7. Fill it with good content. Do the simplest of SEO, that is, make the title of each content piece (post) relevant to what people are searching for. Use the Google Keyword Tool (Google it) to find out what people are searching for in your niche.
8. Wait for the traffic.
9. Sign up for Google Adsense and place ads on your site following their guidelines so you don't get banned.

Do the above for 3 months and whilst you are doing that read everything on this forum. Good luck.

Just a extra tip for you in the future when you get around to choosing domain hosting, don't go with cheap places such as 123-reg (I fell into that trap.) and lookup HostGator, as I'm sure most people will agree with me that they're a good host, especially with offering free phone lines etc. But if you are from the UK, you won't be able to work with .co.uk domains with them.

Sit down and read, repeat that for few months, then take action and don't give up

It can be so simple to make a website! You don't need any knowledge of web design or spend a lot of money on a professional. You can use a website builder like Wix or Exai.com and have a website in minutes! Before you do this, get a domain from a domain registrar like godaddy. The whole process can be a lot easier than you think, so don't worry. Good luck

I think it's best if you try blogging first, they basically works like a website now and you don't need to learn programming or any technical skills to set it up. You can try Blogger from Google or the free Wordpress to start with, then you go from there.

I agree with what people have been saying here. Think about what interests you, what interests your friends, and what kind of information and/or resources might be useful to them. That exercise will likely guide you to a topic for your website. Once you have a topic, register a domain name for it, and then start building the site. As others have noted, there are numerous website builders out there that simplify the process of creating the site. My company vFlyer offers one, vFlyer Sites, that's free and quite easy to use. And once your site is live, it's important to update the content in it to keep it relevant (and search engines tend to like sites that are updated frequently).
