Hello, how do i move 5 wordpress sites to a "new" server.

The reason i put the word new in quote is that the server i intend to migrate the 5 sites to is owned by the same company but i am having two account with them.

I have 5 sites on each of the two accounts which are on shared server accounts with diffrence IP Addresses.

I have attempted to do this but the outcome was not successful because after i downloaded and restored the 5 site files and their DataBase using Cpanel i could only find 2 out of the 5 sites domain names(the root domain and one add-on) and folders in the cpanel file manager.

In fact i could not find the Wp-includes folder for the add-on domain when i expanded it.

I don't know what i am doing wrong. Please give me step by step on how to go about it.

PS: I registered all my domain names with the company, so their DNS are the same.

Thanks.

You must go for hostbig ir hostgator but godaddy will provie you a good service too at a bit high cost so hostgator or hostbig will be the best along with exclusive plans for the multiple domains.

Have you talked to your new web host about this? They should be moving your sites for you...

You would find it easier to do that using an ftp program like filezilla.

The add on domain may be set up with a different cpanel account. Your hosting company (old one) support should be able to resolve this easier that we can, they can see how everything is organized.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

There's an order of events that must be followed to move WP sites and keep all the content.

It's ALOT easier to do it if you are not changing domains, i.e domain1.com -> domain2.com

If you are not moving domains,

1.) Download all your files via FTP i.e. Filezilla
2.) Export your SQL database via PHPMyAdmin
3.) Upload all your files to the new FTP directory
4.) Import your SQL database via PHPMyAdmin
5.) Double check your settings in WP-Config.php <-Most important

As far as the issues in your cPanel you need to talk with your hosting provider.

    Any problems, let me know.
