Attaching a blog to wordpress?

Quick question about wordpress.

I want to add a blog to wordpress. Kinda like this site.
Movoto Real Estate - Homes for Sale & Real Estate Agents

Which has its core pages - home page, etc

Then it has a blog - which expands into categories.

How can i do this with wordpress. Have my core pages, then attach a blog which has deeper categories.

    Try it and always look at the source code before posting...

    1. That site is NOT a WordPress site - only the blog part is powered by WP. The rest is .aspx

    2. You can do it with WP, if you are knowledgeable about the WP features: use Pages for your "core content" (whatever that is) and the static Page as homepage feature, which is built-in.
    2a. When you set up the homepage, you should also set up the "posts page"... just spend some time inside your own WP install... everything is there (and in the Codex) > Settings > Reading

    You don't have to do anything special.

    Install WordPress.

    Create the static "core" pages in the pages menu.

    Set one of those static pages as the homepage, instead of a list of blog posts, from the settings menu.

    Create a post category called and add that category to the site's navigation from the appearance menu to have your blog page.

    Write your blog posts from the posts menu.

    You can also do it by adding the link of the blog to the wp site in the wp dashboard
