Hi everyone,

I have recently launched my new website for my company Jolt Entertainment. We are a full service event production and entertainment company based out of Chicago.

Joltentertainment.com

I would love to gather some feedback to further improve it. If you have a minute, anything will help!

Thanks everyone for your time.

Andy

Not sure if you know or not, but some of the navigation items don't align with what they say, or theydon't work. buzz = blog, wedding doesn't work, etc

I am well aware of that, but thanks for letting me know. Things are slightly un-alligned since we added new content and sort of tweaked our brand. The blog page will be turned into buzz, and the wedding link is being removed. All the final touches should be finalized this morning.

      I appreciate the feedback.

Hi Andy. Your website looks great. If you did it yourself, I'm impressed that you can DJ and dev websites! There are some things I think I can change to make users more engaged. Do you have an e-mail I can send a mockup to?

Very nice looking website especially for the area you are in. Do you mind me asking what application you designed it in or is it a blog template? Good job though like it

Have you tested load times with Pingdom or Google Page speed? Seems like a few of those images need optimizing.

I have not utilized either of these resources. Thank you for bringing them to my attention though!

As far as optimizing images, how do you go about doing that? I apologize if that's a dumb question, I don't have much web design experience.

Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback! No, I did not design it. I am a full time DePaul University student that had a fellow student design it as his first "big project." I am unsure what program he uses other than photoshop to draft everything, but not sure what he uses to code the website.

@wilsonball, I am always open to new ideas and strategies. You can reach me at Andy(at)Joltent.com

Thanks again everyone. I look forward to further feedback.

    Sorry for the late reply.
It depends on the sizes, you can use free and fast "tinypic" the software not the picture hosting service. It's really old software been around since XP, but it still works... Highest resolution it makes is 1600x1200.

Or you can use photoshop/gimp and when you save as JPEG, simply reduce the quality settings down until you start to see some pixelization, then bring it up 1 notch.

you should also try to host it all on AmazonS3.
