Need assistance with best way to generate leads!

Hello, I have a buddy that is the hardest working used car saleman you'll ever meet. For the past 5 years he has specialized in used car sales to people with poor credit and made big money because the institutions were loaning money to anybody and everybody. Today, he is struggling to pay his bills because the loaning institutions are not loaning money as easily so his leads have dried up. He currenlty buys leads from lead companies but the leads are really poor. So, wondering what it would cost to create an online presence for him as a way to generate leads. I"m looking to outsource this solution to someone here on the Forum so your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    He should advertise. That's how you get leads.

    He should also read "How To Sell Anything To Anybody" and
    DO what it says. Salesmen don't make money because they
    get complacent. I bet your friend ain't bringing the prospects
    in and now he's crying because he put his skills on the shelf
    when times were easy.

    That being said - if he wants custom-generated leads and
    is willing to do it right I can help.

      Loren - I agree with you that lots of sales people in the car business become complacent but that's not the case with this guy. His only problem is the leads that he is buying today from leads companies are really poor quality. For the past 5 years he has been in the high risk or poor credit area so his referrals in this marketplace arent' the same as would be in a market place with more stable people.

      I would be interested in learning more about your thoughts on this so please let me know how to get in touch with you. I have a day time job and I"m usually on my computer between 9:00 - 12:00 pm cst time trying to figure this stuff out.

    the idea here is mass market.

    grab a few opt in email lists from somewhere of around 100k and beyond.

    Get 3 or 4 lists that target that particular niche

    bulk email it out.

    if you get 1% response out of 100,000 your doing good. lets be more realistic more like .5 percent...thats 500 responses.

    Get the name out there.

    Once people check it out...

    if it looks like a good deal...you got a sale or 2.

    drewjones - thats another way to look at it. I was thinking building a web presence for the aread would be the way to go for the particular area but maybe mailing lists would also be to go. I'll check into to that. Thanks for helping me see the bigger picture.
