Wordpress Problem Driving Me Crazy!

I am using the Profits Theme and setting up a new blog.

Whenever I add a widget I can see it when I preview the page as long as I'm logged into the admin panel on the same browser. But if I go and refresh the page on another browswer the widget does not show up. I have only installed a couple plugins so I disabled and deleted them to see if that was the problem and it wasn't.

This was even happening with "standard" widgets like Calendar!

Now get this....I noticed if I add a post and then refresh the page in other browsers the widgets all of a sudden show up. What the hell? Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Website is in my sig line below.

OK, I will take a guess on this and it is only a guess. The updates do not "take" until you close that session on the original browser. So looking at the page from another browser does not reflect the change until you have closed the update on the original browser. OK, hope that helps, good luck, Ed.

I haven't used the profits theme, but could it be that you are putting the widget into a sidebar that you have not elected to show on the blog.

      cheers

Sometimes the Super Cache plugin will keep the page in it's current state "as is" until it's turned off as well. Try turning that plugin off(if you have it) and see if it keeps your edits.

if you have the W3 Total cache installed, simply go to Performance tab and empty all caches before you preview your changes. when you submit your changes the plugin should clear your cache automatically

I see you have WP Super Cache installed. If you have a new blog with little content you do not need to cache get rid of it your just asking for problems. I visited the support stream for this plugin and there are a lot of problems and they aren't getting fixed.

Definitely sounds like a caching issue to me. Super Cache / Total Cache do this a lot - clear the cache, open up an incognito window and try again!

It looks like it was a cacheing issue. But here is the strangest part. I completely uninstalled the theme, uninstalled wordpress, deleted all files from the server and started over with a fresh wordpress install. The brand new install was doing the same thing. And stranger yet, I logged into other wordpress sites I host on the same server and their updates were able to be seen right away.

So I cleared the cache on all the browsers a few times each and the updates started working again and have been ever since. But the strange part is this took several cache clears and only had to do with the one site. I guess that would mean it is a theme issue but the reinstall of wordpress would indicate it is not. Very strange...

Thank you to everyone who jumped in with some answers!

When you reinstalled Wordpress, did you also re-use the same theme?
Did you not try to use the Wordpress Default theme to see if the problem persisted?

When I have a problem with a theme like that I usually just go with a new one all together.
