Hi all,

I am looking for comments and / or suggestions related to my website. I am open to all feedback, good or bad.

Just a heads up, in the neighborhood section, the images at the top will be a highlighting each individual neighborhood - I have yet to finish them.

Philadelphia Real Estate

Thanks in advance!

I "recommend" you don't discuss anything seo and other stuff not related to "web design" in this subforum - otherwise your thread might disappear...

Makes sense. I just threw those questions in there because I was asking for feedback in general. I'll remove them and will create a new thread for them.

      Thanks!

It seems to me that the image slider on your Home page should be less than half it's present size, such as the size on your "About" page. Because it takes up so much space, there is not a single English sentence to be found "above the fold", meaning the visible area of the Home page when it loads.

The image slider is not that important. People want to find and read text to convince them to stay on your site. I strongly feel you should tone it down.

The text in the two boxes "Sell Your Home" and "Luxury Real Estate" speak in generalities, and I would think the visitor is interested in specifics. Namely, what, specifically can you do for them? The text in the "Hire a Realtor" box is much more focused and to the point. It should be the FIRST box, and there should be more of this text on the Home page.

The entire section "Philadelphia Real Estate News" is a negative, in my opinion. You want to buy or sell houses, so lead the visitor towards viewing houses for sale or contacting you to sell one. This entire section uses space that could be put to far better use.

Typical of WordPress sites, the footer is way too large, and the items in them are off-topic. Together with the "Real Estate News" section, about half of your Home page is focused on gratuitous news instead of being focused on making a conversion. i.e. a sale. Reading "Get Your Beer Week “Shwag!" will not convince me that I should do business with you.

The inner pages are good, except that every one has the humongous footer which offers distracting, off-topic content which works against conversions. The About page is well written. I like the idea of the contact forms on each inner page. The forms ask for a minimum of information, which is good. All you want is the contact.

The menu is especially well done. It is intuitive and usable. The typeface used throughout the site is consistent and readable with high contrast. I am always happy to see black text on a white page. I never figured out why other website owners think it's great to make their site hard to read by using light-grey text on white backgrounds.

Great! Thank you, SmallBizWebsites; much appreciated.

The large slider on the homepage will be filled with listings, drawing consumers in to hopefully convert a lead into a buyer. For right now, they are just random images. Also, the posts on the bottom of the page, under "Philadelphia Real Estate News" are temporary. They will ultimately be insightful blog posts. What else would you suggest I add to the homepage?

I need some serious work on my language, or copywriting, and I know that. That's my next step so that I can be as focused as possible while connecting with my targeted consumer.

As far as my footer, what specific suggestions would you make? Legally, the U S Spaces logo has to be the same size as mine, which is part of the reason for the large footer. I also wanted recent blog posts on every page, so I thought the footer would be a good spot for that. Especially for filling up dead space created by the large logo.

      Thanks again for your help!
