Is there a plugin for WP that can make a custom header without coding? My website has a white theme, but I want my footer to have a black ground and "recent posts" "categories" and "tweets". Is this possible with a plugin or would I have to do some coding?

Howdy!

It looks like there are custom header / footer plug-ins you can use.

A quick search came up with 71 pages of results. WordPress › Search for custom footer « WordPress Plugins

I'm not too familiar with any of these particular plug-ins, so hopefully you'll be after able to find one to your liking or someone who has used one will come along to give their recommendations.

Hope this helps!

All you need to do is tweak the CSS of the theme.

Many themes, including Twenty Eleven let you add widgets in the footer and there are numerous plugins for "recent posts" "categories" and "tweets".

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

Footers are part of the theme. Try to use a theme which meets your requirements on header/footer widget areas.
