I have set the posts page on the WP reading settings to page: articles

Now what it's doing is just mirroring my main page..
I have 3 articles which used to show up so I have no idea why it's showing the main page.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

And which (existing) Page - not post!!! - did you set up at the same place as your frontpage? Is it a separate Page with different content?
The two settings work only together, not alone...

'Articles' is an existing page which is set as the 'Posts page'.
'Home' is an existing page which is set as the 'Front page'.

The 'Articles' page is blank, whereas the 'Home' page is what you see on the main page.

Do you have a file called home.php in your theme folder...

Try deleting that one ( backup before deleting )

For more info read this, by default it will look for home.php and then index.php so deleting home.php might work..

Also since you are using Headway theme, there might be a custom blog template, you can try selecting that from the backend, and then keep the front page display blank in settings >> reading
