Need help changing Google search display

So for some reason my site title seems to duplicate myself and I'm not sure why. I've attached a screenshot of what it currently looks like and it's lackluster at best. I'm sure it's a setting within my Wordpress site but not sure what it could be. I didn't have this issue before.

The other thing I'd like to change how it looks. I know a few similar sites like mine that have links showing up underneath. I attached a screenshot from lynda.com that has what I'm looking for. I have Google webmaster tools but not sure exactly how to use them. If someone could please point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

    Are you usinf any SEO plugin? I think all in one seo plugin or any othert one do it automatically. If your home page is a static homepage, please go to your homepage on wordpress dashboard and change seo title under editor.

      Yeah I noticed someone on the Wordpress forums had a similar issue and pointed to the SEO plugin being the issue. I'm using the Yoast SEO plugin but even when I remove the site title/tagline from the wordpress theme, or change it in the SEO portion I still get the same issue. When I remove it from the site title of the theme it removes everything. I'll keep messing around with it and hopefully I find something.

      How do I go about changing my search description like the one that lynda.com has? Is that part of the sitemap?
