Video of me using your site: Screenr - Adoos: beards

1. Amazon links did not load, very possibly because my IP is coming from Hong Kong

2. Strongly consider opening external links (at least non-affiliate links) in a new tab rather than the current window, as that would have been my normal exit.

1.) All the Amazon links work for me. Did anyone else experience a similar problem?

2.) I'm using the custom menu widgets for the sidebar, which doesn't have a new tab option. Do you know of another way?

There is probably a very easy way to set all your links to 'new tab' when you look at the code. There are a lot of people that will do fixes like these for a quick $10 or so.

The site is really nice by the way ^^

My thoughts:

Your website does look professional. It loads very quickly in my browser.

The main problem that I see is that it doesn't really sell. Meaning....I don't really understand, within 5 seconds, of visiting the website what your website does or why I should buy from you.

On the Internet, you need to have an irresistible offer on your homepage that motivates / compels your customers to take action.

Also, I would strongly recommend that you develop a tagline / strapline that tells visitors what exactly your company does and why people should buy from you.

I agree, it is a nice looking site, but it's not clear what it is, or why it's there.

Unless your building it just to have a hobby?

I have a beard, but never searched about different styles or taking care of it. Maybe I'm just not that into my beard?

Shane,

You have a good start here. I agree with the other members that you need to have a site description or at least a tagline that tells people what the site is for and why they should be there.

I would try getting rid of the space above the main wrapper and bring more of the content above the fold. Try making the main banner image a little shorter.

The design of your site is good, very minimalistic and easy on the eyes, good job! The links are also all working for me.

As the rest have mentioned, a tagline of a simple sentence or two describing your site will dispel all confusion in knowing what the site is all about!

Just curious though: will you be adding more beard styles? Haha otherwise a pretty sweet-looking site!

Get more content on the frontpage. Quote other blogs posts talking about your subject. Place a twitter feed to pull beard, goatee, mustache related tweets. Have a video section of videos about beards etc

Definitley more content - rolling content on your frontpage.

I originally had "rolling content" on the frontpage but it actually decreased user interaction.

My next step is to add a social to the site. I'll definitely consider adding a twitter feed and video section. Thanks for the tip!
