Hi warriors,
I'm looking for a new WP theme that will be good with SEO and will look good as well. I've taken a look in Elegant Themes and the price is good to but not sure with the SEO, anyone knows a better provider?

I generally go with one of the WordPress.org stock themes Twenty Twelve, or Twenty Eleven, or a child theme based on one of them.

I depend on WordPress SEO by Yoast for SEO

I don't think I've ever paid for a theme. My favorite theme right now is catch box and it is one of the free ones. I would suggest first looking at the theme uploader built into your wordpress before deciding if you want to buy a theme. I much prefer to use a basic free one and then either making tweaks on it myself (if needed) or hiring someone to do it.

Theme Forest has a lot of good themes. I would have recommeded Catalyst framework yesterday but they bailed on me once again (Frugal before) for Genesis.

I would recommend Themeforest too if you want a better theme. By the way, besides SEO what else do you need for a theme?

I looking for a flexible, responsive and well designed theme. I failed to find one on the free themes mainly because the themes features not always well presented.

I've never paid for a theme personally, but it depends on what you're looking to do with your site. If your just setting up a personal blog, I wouldn't suggest you spending any money. I always use the free themes from WordPress.org and then customize them to my liking.

Yeah but there aren't a lot of themes there that actually looks well. I mean the themes on elegant themes are amazing. I already looked at the free theme section and nothing caught my eyes.

Do you have any HTML/CSS/PHP experience? You could always get a free theme and then edit it so it will resemble a theme that you like.

The problem about theme forest is that random people are uploading a theme. I don't really have tech support.

Go for Gonzo from Themeforest. It's clean and professional and easy to use.

If you don't like it Themeforest is still the place to go to find the theme.

Elegant themes is by far my favorite after having tried numerous other brand name themes. I would highly recommend. The seo is simple and the special ET control panel is incredibly easy to use compared to others. The only thing I could complain about is ad integration but there are plugins which you can use to add your ad code how you would like. Hope this helps.

Do you think that the yearly price is worth it?
I do need to pay every year at least 40$ when I only need one theme.

IMO the price is def worth it. They have 80+ themes constantly updated and 4 plugins built specifically for them. Their control panel built into the themes compared to others alone is worth the money IMO. Makes it so much easier to build sites with and the people making these themes seem to have a pretty good eye for design. I don't have much more than basic HTML5/CSS and now some PHP and have been able to take care of all the stuff I have needed to do on numerous sites.

I would like to note however if you plan on putting a bunch of advertising on your site it will likely require plugins and WooCommerce takes a little tinkering with to work sometimes. Other than that however I would put most of ET themes above the competition generally. Mainly just based on design and the control panel.

Do you recommend Woo themes, have you used elegant themes?
I've used both Woothemes AND Elegant Themes.

ET are *gorgeous*, however, they run a bit clunky. I can't express it well, I just get the feeling that corners were cut in the coding process. Also, I disagree about the control panel being easy to use, at least in comparison to Woo. As for price, I *do think the ET price is fair considering how many themes you're getting, but of course there's no way you're ever going to use all of them anyway.

With woothemes you get a package deal. Make sure you get the Canvas theme because you can do so much with it.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.
