I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable with Wordpress, but I've just found myself with an issue I cannot answer.

A few weeks ago I sold a Wordpress blog I no longer need/use on Flippa. As an incentive, I sold it preloaded with almost 100 articles/posts. They were in draft format and I suggested the purchaser make them go live two or three a week. These were in addition to 500+ long-standing articles

I received an email from him this morning asking what had happened to them and it seems that somehow he's managed to delete all the draft posts.

So, my question is -- once deleted, is it possible to retrieve draft posts in Wordpress? I'm guessing that the answer will be no, and my only solution will be be paste them all back in again ...

My first question would be did they get moved in to the trash in WordPress? I guess you have already looked there?

If you have and they are not there, your out of luck. You're gonna need a backup to get them back.

No, they aren't in he trash. The articles were all loaded after I transferred the site and I don't have a backup of them other than in Wordpress on my computer.

If they have dissappeared from his site, I would suggest he install user submitted posts plugin. 100 quick clicks on your part and he could have them all back in draft form.
Obviously you could export them from database and he could import them but a lot more of your time to teach him how.
