New Website in progress: review skin

So I am in the progress of switching out my old forums to the new Student Boards and need opinion on the theme. I know the colors are a little off but that is because I am waiting to have a logo made and will adjust everything accordingly.

other than that:

does the site look like a friendly welcoming site?

does it seem professional?

what do you feel is missing besides the obvious members and logo. I am in the process of adding content!

      thanks! what is a usp?

      I am trying to make it as professional and aesthetically pleasing as possible BUT without being too overbearing. Hopefully I can get that logo as soon as possibe.

        - a USP stands for "unique selling proposition", meaning what is it that your product or service can do uniquely that would make the prospect want to perform an action so that they will receive what you are offering.

    Just for suggestion:
    > Font size it up a little
    > Suggested color for h1,h2 or h3 fonts =#3CA0d0, #63ADD0, #086FA1

    Other than that everything looks good to me.

      I am not quite sure how to do that or what it is haha but I will definitely look into it!

      and now that you mention it the font size for the threads posted are kind of small so I may increase the size!


      edit:

      there are two color schemes if you guys could please go through it for me : )

      the default one and at the bottom you can switch themes to pair it up against "Bulletin"


      also I am still deciding on the color of the site. Either some kind of green or brown.


      what do you guys think of the current colors? too bothersome?

    I have to agree with everyone else - it looks really nice. Yes to "welcoming" and yes to "professional."

    Wish I could point out something to fix, but you've done a really nice job. I really like the icons you are using for each of the categories too!

    I think it looked great before and still looks great to me. Might be getting slightly on the light side, but that could be me. But it's still a fantastic looking site.

    Think your worrying about it too much. So stop worrying about the look so much, and spend that time on promotion, marketing, monterizing or building the member base

      I changed it again, I put too much thought into it I know but I want something uniqu, I hate conformity (not crimes and other societal norms)

      I have a particular theme in mind that I may get my hands on but right now I have an altered version of the default xenforo theme and

      if you go to the bottom left hand corner you can change the theme from "xen" to "xenboard" which may not be that unique but it is interesting I think

    I personally prefer the XenBoard. The color scheme looks to make more sense.

    I am not fond of the current colors, previous one was even better, but that's my opinion.
