Hello,

I am new here to the warrior forum. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have a problem with my wordpress blog post. Some of the post on my wordpress blog do not show up when I browse there with Internet Explorer. But they show up just fine with my firefox browser.

It's just the post and sidebar links that do not show up. The header and post title seem OK.

I have changed themes several time with the same result. Cleared cache, reloaded and republished my posts. Still the same result.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Help!

Anthony

      Thanks for your help.

Take a look at this page of my blog using internet explorer. Then look at it with firefox. See if the post is visible in your IE browser.

I cannot post a link here until I have 15 posts.

If you search stop foreclosure answer in google, the second link is to my blog. See the page Welcome to the Stop Foreclosure Blog.

Not all pages have this problem.

You know there was a girl not a week ago who had the exact same problem. The issue is that sometimes when you paste content from MS Word, it drops a bunch of ugly code into your post. Firefox and the other good browsers can handle it, but IE just chokes.

Here's how to fix it. First, open up the post in one of the browsers that works, and copy the text content of the page. Try to just get the text content and not accidentally grab anything else. Then, open up Wordpad or Notepad and paste the content in. Now, press CTRL A to select all, and copy the content again. This strips all of MS Word's rubbish code and leaves you with pure text.

Now, go to your Welcome post in your Wordpress admin panel. Switch into HTML view and make sure every last line of code is deleted from the post. You can now switch back into visual mode and paste the raw text you copied from Wordpad / Notepad.

To be on the safe side, switch into code view again and make sure there is nothing like this: class="MsoNormal", or this: <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> in your post.

You should see only nice clean html tags like <p> and <br />

That should do the trick. For next time you're pasting from MS Word, it always pays to paste it into Wordpad/Notepad and then copy and paste it a second time to avoid the nasty MS Word code.

It always strikes me how ironic it is that it's only Microsoft's browser that cant handle the code from it's document editor, hehe.

I'm new here, actually this is my first post.
There is a plugin for WordPress that you can install, that fixes this.
search "paste from word" in the plugins directory.

    BUT...
if you are using the latest version of wordpress, this should be a default option in the WYSIWYG editor. Its a small icon that has the 'W' on it.

When you click it, it pops up a little frame for you to paste the word doc text into.
When you hit Insert, it scrapes the text and will be viewable/ cross browser compatible.

    /my 2 cents

Yes, a lot of people are completely unaware of this nifty little tool in the latest WordPress version. MS Word is ugly. It has it's own proprietary code and it does mess things up quite a bit so don't forget to click the "W" and post your Word doc in there first instead of in the normal WordPress post box.
