Website Help! WP Elegant Themes 500 Internal Error

Hi guys,

I need help with my website. I recently acquired a personal membership to Elegant Themes. Whenever I install one of their themes, my website runs an 500 Internal Server Error. I asked my hosting provider about it, and they said it was spinning too many processes. The theme had to be removed in order to run the website properly. I can't use their themes.

I didn't pay forty bucks for an error. Can anyone help me with this?

I'm running the latest WP.

Thanks,
JR John

It's most likely a theme & plugin being used together causing the problem. If your hosting provider can't give you a good explanation on what you need to do, I'd suggest finding one who can.

It's either that, or they're limiting "too much".

EDIT: Also, inside the root of your public_html directory, you should see a file called "error_log" - open it up and see what's being written to the log.

It could be just one poorly written plugin that's causing the problem, or you may be using too many. Try installing one of the WordPress default themes along with the P3 plugin

Give us a list of the plugins you are using, also the name of the hosting company and someone might be able to give you better advice.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

I'm using HostGator. The plugins aren't the problem - I tried deactivating them and reuploading the theme. No go. The ElegantTheme support is rather sluggish
