I'm getting ready to launch. I'm still adding a few things.
Any suggestions, tips are welcomed! I've been designing sites for only 3 years but I think I've come a long way. My greatest challenge is marketing unfortunately

I also hope for encouragement - what you love about the site, I sometimes get discouraged when I develop systems because I look at what is already out there...

    Great Idea for a site, and it looking good so far, The sidebars could use banners or some touch up and the header over laps the title of the pages which makes it hard to read, but it is looking good for the most part..

    Hey Cnich23 I like the idea behind the site also. I have quite a bit of experience in reviewing basic SEO, usability and conversions for predominantly small business/organisations websites.

    I would say without taking a deeper look (for now) the thing that immediately leaps out is that it has a huge blank space at the top with a tiny logo, it kind of feels like thats an error or a glitch on my browser so its probably a wise idea to check all the big ones. I then try and click the top two links on the left and nothing happens.

    So although initially the site looks interesting, a quick look around reveals a few creases. Sort them out and you've easily got a much better start than 90% of the websites I've reviewed! Keep it up since achieving a good looking website often conflicts with getting the whole message across and I think your's looks to be in good shape.

    Hey cnich23, I might recommend changing your headline which currently reads:

    ExtremeRankup is a collection of viral blogs written by people around the world.
    You can help bloggers to gain rank … review and share your favorites!

    Consider writing something that explains why people would use viral blogging or what benefit it is to "gain rank", review, or share. Your headline says what your site does but not why anyone would want do do that.

    That seems to have done the trick but has introduced a new problem.

    I am on a fairly large MAC screen and now there is a blank space that takes up about 1/3 of the screen at the bottom of the page.

    Having the content in one view is great, but having that space there looks like a mistake rather than a planned design idea. It might only be the case on big monitors though.

        First thing first - you need to move your site to faster server. I can't stress this enough but a website that is slow is bad for any kind of business....it shows lack of care, lack of interest and much more. Nobody looks forward to returning to a slow website.


        Do an experiment. Two different guys promise you a ride to another city, they both drive two different cars (one is a fast one) and one is not. Which one do you think you look forward into taking your ride in?
