Looking for suggestions for a Wordpress theme.

Hey all

I'm looking for a Newspaper-like theme. I think I have looked through the available themes on wordpress.org, including the premium ones (themeforest), but cant seem to find any that would fit my needs. Most of the themes I found were to modern/fancy looking.

What I'd like is a simple (3 column) theme that is highly customizable.

I want my website to have a similar look as any of the following websites:

Washington Post: Breaking News, World, US, DC News & Analysis
Home | Mail Online
Telegraph.co.uk - Telegraph online, Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph - Telegraph
The Seattle Times | News, sports, weather, events in the Northwest
The Independent | News | UK and Worldwide News | Newspaper
The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia

Are there any free wordpress themes that could achieve this or should I be only looking at the premium themes?

Hello you are searching for news template. There are many templates in internet in free or low cost. I use this website templatemonster.com for wordpress themes. templatemonster.com provide best themes in low cost and their work are also good .

How about this one? It's like Washington Post.
This is the second one - Hybrid News. It's actually a child theme for a Hybrid theme. It's more classic, retro style, but Hybrid theme is not responsive, and ain't gonna be I think.

I think you should consider buying a theme that fits your needs. I use the theme Flat News from Themeforrest WordPress - Flat News (Not an affilate link!) It is extremly easy to customize.

I recommend the SimpleMag Magazine theme which is quite fit with what you want.
Moreover, Newspaper theme is also nice with lot of good comments from end users.
