I've got an expired domain here that I'm trying to re-install and use.

In archive.org I see the site "domain.com" is redirecting to "domain.com/en/main/splash"

All of the back links to this site are distributed between:

"domain.com"
"domain.com/en"
"domain.com/fr"

The site was previously in both english and french it would seem.

When I go to Open Site Explorer under "Top Pages" I see:

"domain.com/"
"domain.com/en"
"domain.com/fr"
"domain.com/en/main/splash"

My Question is: are these subdirectories or are these pages? How can I tell because the extention for both a page, post or subdirectory looks the exact same in the url structure.

Those are actually directories, but if it contains an index page, that will show up when you go there.

The site is expired though so I cant go anywhere. This is what I see when I type "(domain).ca" into archive and click a timeline.

Im assuming that means its 301'ing to subdirectory.

Now all of the back links pointing to this site are distributed between:

      "domain.ca"
      "domain.ca/en"
      "domain.ca/fr"

if they are subdirectories, then the most PR links are pointing at "domain.ca/en". Can I simply build the site on a that subdirectory and 301 the root and fr subdirectory to siphon all the PR to the "domain.ca/en"?

If you're using the same hosting and domain, then your site should still exist and you just need to renew your domain. If you're starting from scratch, then you should just wipe your hosting and start empty IMO.
