I think it's a vast improvement (personally) - the only thing is the BIG header image - if you want to stick with that - can you use the blank black space in the top right corner for your Newsletter Signup/Optin - rather than it being "hidden" below the fold?

Just a thought . . . .

I would also put the "I don't have time to read all this!" link on top of the sidebar where it's more clearly visible, so as to capture more of those people who just want to 'skip to the good part already'.

Also, if you're not doing the sign-up form on the top corner like pjCheviot suggests then at least switch the rss feeds box with the sign-up box. No reason RSS should have the top-left slot as it's likely to be the MOST looked at area of the site aside from the header (people are conditioned to scan reading material starting from the top left going right, so you want to put something that's critical in that slot).

Similarly, you can try to put the video right below the headline so it falls above the fold and people who don't like to read and are scanning (and possibly not scrolling down) know right away that there's an alternative for them.

Also, I see a slot for adsense, you are aware that it could pose a "leak" for your leads to leave your page with, as well as possibly display ads from your competitors on your own page? Just something to think about.

The only thing I could suggest that really stands about the 'look' is your cartoon graphic on top...

It's great art and a wonderful graphic, but something about it just stands out as creepy.

His smile looks evil...A little crooked, really comes off as the kind of guy you wouldn't give your business info over to...His hand in the pocket is causing suspicion and sending sub-conscience negativity (ask any police officer).

It's all perspective though -- a million people will give you a million different opinions. Thanks for asking for my opinion, hope the data is useful.
