Making visitors click an image or "Click Here To Enter Our Site" text is reminiscent of the web design of the 1990s and is kind of pointless. But maybe your client has a good use for this.

I think...You can create a standalone theme page template and have one big logo within a white/black background...with a button "Enter"....

However, As per my understanding....I would have been tried to let them understand that this will not be good as far as SEO or Domain ranking is concerned...

You really, really should persuade them that this is a very bad idea. It's a huge turn off for visitors and makes your SEO suck.

I face this exact problem quite often... a customer wants something specific that's not good - I simply explain why I feel it's a bad idea, and emphasis that I'm the expert on this topic... and then if the customer still insists, I go ahead and do what the customer wants.

I always try explaining why it's a bad idea...

But some customers have very set ideas... and it's best to simply do what they want.

How about doing it in html?

You could put the WP site in a directory, and have the landing page sit in the root. Easiest thing in the world.

As far as the wisdom of it, you might try an a/b test and share the results with your client.

Its Simple..!

Create static HTML page and design as per client requirement and after click redirect to Wordpress default page i.e, www.yourdomain.com/index.php

Hosting server reads "index.html" by default. So your Intro page must be in .html or .htm

Is it really work? Actually I have did this only with WordPress theme. There is 2 to 3 themes available that give this opportunity.

Just have a PHP wordpress template page without anything (sidebars, headers...) and use it to create a page with the image that links to another page (which is the "normal" main page). How this is done depends on your theme.

Otherwise you could use the WP Splash Page plugin
