Default are all email/zip submit scams?

Hi warriors,

Recently I have been reading many comments on this forum about email/zip submit being all scams.

I am just wondering, are ALL email/zip submit scams?

does anyone know?
Any AM reading this can give us his/her opinion?

thanks
Maher

Depends what you mean on scam? You if you access one of this pages, and you read it all even the small letters down the page you will notice that they are telling you how you can get your "Free Iphone" for example. You have to order a product or you must take some action and then you will get the chance to win your "Free Iphone". So let's say this offers are misleading you.

Yes, most are scams to some degree.

No, they are probably not illegal (yet) because of said fine print.

Go with your gut.

Old discussion... Shady but not scams. Just my 2 cents.

Does email/zip submit offer scam?
Email/zip submit CPA offers legit?

What is your definition of scam? Most will actually give you the product they advertise if you fill the offers that they tell you that you need to fill out.. it's not the most ethical practice I guess, but to me it's far from a scam..

Our email/zip submit advertisers at PeerFly send out millions of dollars in prizes each year. Costi was nice enough to link to it already, but I have written an article on how advertisers monetize the traffic sent to email/zip submits and how they can manage to pay you for the traffic and send out the prizes:
How E-mail and Zip Submits Work

Long story short, no, they are not a scam

Right. When I was working with incentive traffic - guys filling offer ( and i was 100% sure that they even visiting this site first time ) I'm not receiving any $$ for email. Is it a bad fraud security or something like that?

I was thinking always why i'm receiving so small % CTR ( 3-5% ) but so so so many clicks on email/zip submit offers. That was 1 year ago, same is now, not all email submit offers pays even you are first time on the site.

I'm not a programmer and i dont know how this 'fraud-security' script is coded but I think they pay on fifth or third clean pc click + email submit on the offer.

I dont know about that, but I think they are scammers on the way.

What about getting free stuff for filling offers. I think they send stuff like Luke mention in article about email submit offers. Because it's cheap, and if lead complete required offers, he makes $50+ and lead getting stuff worth 5$

But about ipad, iphones and other expensive stuff... who knows but my opinion they are scammers on first way ( not paying always to publisher ) and on second way ( when they send stuff to lead ) they are not scammers.

It's just a my opinion. Do not judge

Thx guys
Thx Luke for your article, it does answer my question

it looks like email/zip submit process is more complicated than I thought.
your article made me also understand why sometimes I have too many clicks on my campaign but yet very few conversions

I was asking this question mainly because I am building up a list so that I can send regular CPA offers to it. So I am guessing if the people on the list are not getting anything, they will eventually unsubscribe

thx

There not a scam. But, just like everything in life you HAVE to read the small print. That's where they get you. Most people who feel scammed just didn't take the time to properly comprehend how stuff works.

Has nothing to do with small print. Many of the companies behind these email submits go out of business yearly, changing names because of the lawsuits they are involved in. There are a few large companies that aren't "scamming" but even they are doing some stuff that needs to be questioned: using TM's without permission etc.

It's dying method.

Thanks Luke for clarifying the the backend process of email submits and glad to know that they are not a scam. I have made decent income from email submits and will not run it if it is a scam in any manner.

I disagree. Email/zip submits aren't going anyway. The companies behind them are way to big to just let it die. They will adapt as needed.

No it does not ,I got some decent success with email/zip submit offers .They are not going away as people want free gifts. But the problem starts when network starts scrubbing so sign up for three or more CPA networks and do split testing ..

If you sign up for 5 credit cards to get an ipad, and you really get an ipad if you do..it's hardly a scam. You would indeed get a free ipad as a gift.

But the scams are those offers where you get forced into contracts where you receive supplies of whatever Acai/Colon Cleanse supplement..and then it turns out it's almost impossible to get out of this because they keep debiting from your account every month, you cannot reach anyone and you can not cancel.

Legally they aren't scams..but they never send out any coupons or iphones like they promise atleast..! they just trick people and most people won't look what is written at the bottom, if they do they'll know!

Hi Mubb,

It really depends on your definition of a scam.

In some campaigns we run (the content is never ours, so it’s not like we are defending ourselves here) we had cases of users actually getting something.
Even if someone submits details and doesn’t win though, it’s not really a scam- they are never promised a sure win, they are offered the possibility of winning.

Thx guys,

Right, let me just clarify my point.

1- I am not talking here about scrubbing. I am not saying that the affiliate is being scammed by the CPA network. I do promote email/zip submit and I do make money and I do get paid. so no complain here

2- I am asking about the users that enter their email/zip,even if they complete all the steps mentioned in the small print, will they ever win anything?

If no one ever wins anything then I think it is a scam, if even one in a million does win a gift then I think it is legit.
Luke article does suggest that people are winning gifts, so I suppose this should be true since it is coming from an AM of a decent network.

(My definition of scam is: IF the users complete all the steps and they do not win anything, and the marketing companies keep on sending them marketing materials to their email address or their mobile phone, without the user being able to unsubscribe, then I think this is a scam.)

Thanks a lot
Maher

Luke, in all due respect, bull****.

First, the ones that send out prizes aren't sending out "millions."

Second, a great deal of the email/zip programs out there are complete scams, with nothing behind them. I have no idea if they are your advertisers, but there are only a few "legit' comapnies with actual prizes and the rest are complete frauds.

Some of the offers are complete fakes, nothing behind them. Even the companies that are legit, like Modern Ads (which is one of the biggest ones) keeps on facing issues and lawsuits.

I contacted a few of the companies we work with yesterday to get a combined yearly estimate. I was assuming it would be in the millions just based on the numbers we do with them, but it may have been an overestimate. The legit companies do send out prizes and that is the point. I'd be interested to see a list of the fraud companies.

Email submits that actually do send out prizes? i really doubt that..there is no public draw or anything like that, how can we be sure if they are sending out prizes? Well atleast they aren't as big a scam as the free trial offers many networks have..:P
