Website Trying To Charge Me $19 CPM For Display Ad

I am interested in doing a display advertising campaign with a website in my industry. I contacted the website and they told me they do display campaigns for $19 per CPM.

This seems absurdely high to me and the website itself I would not consider a "bluechip" publication.

The company was recently acquired by a firm in NYC and I have since noticed the prices have increased across the board with little or no improvement to the product itself.

What are your thoughts on a $19 CPM ad display? Does this seem unreasonable to you?

That seems very very high. I just cancelled an agreement with a site that wanted $7CPM

I guess it really depends. Facebook is a dollar a lead and solo ads from 50-75 cents a lead. Imagine that cost per thousand. The real question is what can you get for that 19 dollars. Are you able to monetize what you get so that you get a great return? I wouldn't mind spending 1,000 dollars if I get 2,000 dollars back. It is not really about the cost but the return on your investment. If you make more than you spend it is almost like not spending anything at all...
