Search is the best but you can lose money testing with search. Content is more for advanced marketers. You really have to know what you are doing or your money will go in a black whole.

Its all about trial and error . You got to lose to gain some

You dont know what you're talking about... sorry

I can set up a content network campaign in 10x less time than a search campaign. Search is deathly competitive. 75% of my revenue comes from the content network. Its definitely not for "advanced marketers only"

Well if 75% of your revenue comes from the content network i know it was through trial and error. Unless someone told you exactly what to do Im sure you did not just pick keywords and start making money that doesn't happen buddy. If someone thinks they can just stick keywords select the content network and make money just like that its not going to happen. Neither methods are easy im just saying search is simpler because you are targeting a keyword from a search engine search of that keyword. ANd maybe you didn't understand what i meant by advanced marketer.
An advanced marketer is someone who knows what they are doing. And to think that content is easier because its making you the most of your money is foolish. Its all about trial and error. Results always varies. You have to do whats best for YOU.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT .

Whatever Mr. hasOffers network, whose only here to promote his network

Of course I learned through trial and error. I attribute trial and error to all my success actually. I dont buy WSO's and "methods" from you guys. I just test things out. And Ive been in this business for a long time now.

The Content Network is like Media Buying with training wheels. And there is serious traffic volume out there. The fact of the matter is, there are only so many people searching on your keywords at any given time. As an affiliate, the economics of search are not in your favor. You have to be very clever to make search work in my experience.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT .
And also. Youre network is hosted on HOSTGATOR (lol!) and you have a private Whois. Precisely the kind of network to do business with.

Stay away from this guys network people. Stick with the proven affiliate networks. Azoogle, Neverblue, MarketHealth, EWA. As affiliates, the last you need is to simply not get paid. This happened to me a few years back with a certain network who shall remain nameless, and it almost put me out of business.

You both have some valid points and there really isn't a right or wrong statement here. From my experience search is way more competitive but more targeted because your showing targeted ads to what the user has searched for. With the content network it is more broad and based on a general keyword instead of more specific ones that you can pick yourself. Content is a whole lot less expensive than search. You really have to test it and figure out for yourself which one is better for the offer your promoting or whatever your promoting.

I have been more successful with search but some people tell me that they are making a killing with the content network. I think if you do content network than you need to research on the sites in the content network and place the ads on the specific sites. I have not done this myself but that is the way it was explained to me about the content network. The search network is pretty straight forward you know what keywords you are bidding on. Either way you go make sure you track and test your results or you will lose your shirt. One last piece of advice I know Google is the king but I have found that MSN is a good place to test market and cheaper too. Just bare in mind you will not receive the traffic that you do from Ad Words but you also will not pay as high a price for mistakes either. Hopes this helps you and good luck no matter which way you go and just take it slow remember sometimes you can go for a long time without conversions than wham 123 sale after sale so you have to keep that in mind as well.

When doing content the budget gets spent faster and the search seems to take a while.

Organization lead to success. You should never go to content before a little bit of search.

I would always start with search. I usually dont even use content as I have never seen many conversions from content at all.

If you have plenty of budget to play with, then search is the way to go.

You can quickly test keywords, your landing page, the offer, and any other factors you wish to test.

After you prove a set of keywords can be effective, then you can explore the option of dominating the niche by creating content around keywords. It will depend on whether you can get top rankings for your content.

Once your testing is done, the ideal scenario would be to have your search advertising and your content both driving traffic. A top listing on search engines for content always outdraws clicks compared to the PPC ads to the side of them. Many times on a factor of 10 to 1. (Not my numbers, numbers which were once reported by Google, over a year ago.)

There can be a difference in conversion, though. People are expecting a sales pitch, offer, or buying experience when they click a search advertisement, they are expecting CONTENT when they click most organic listings. Then it becomes an issue of how well your content converts them.

Back to your question....Search will be more effective for testing, then flush out your campaign with content if it is long term niche.

Depends on your experience. Some people like search better, others like content better. If your just getting started I recommend content, it's a little easier to get going and cheaper.
