Need some recommendations...

I've finally decided to get started with CPA. I have experience with Adwords and have even made some money selling affiliate products. But CPA seems easier.

So I'm looking for recommendations on coaching/courses. I subscribed to Jerry West's MindCrime course but only recvd the first lesson. I've looked into PPC-Coach and Maverick Money Makers. But after reading the threads on here, am deciding against MMM for the time being. PPC-Coach is intriguing, but in the "No-BS" FAQ's section he mentions one should know html. I don't know html, and don't want to learn. I can build sites with the drag and drop type of software, but am not that great at the design part of it. I'm just not creative that way...I'm analytical and good at following processes and managing systems. So I hate to pay $50 a month and not be able to create an effective landing page.

I have about $500 per month for ad spending now. I hate article marketing, although I was getting kind of good at it, and I don't have patience for SEO.

But I want to learn lead generation types of marketing as I intend to take my experience to my current employer and manage lead generation for them. We're currently budgeted for $100 per lead and I think if I can go in and tell them I can generate more leads, more qualified and for a fraction of the cost I can get them to pay me $20 or $30 per lead. So I need to get some early success with CPA.

I see all over the sales pages for everybody's courses that they earn money generating leads for big companies and they don't own a product, don't have a website, and don't know html or web design. The MMM guys say this and so does the Arbitrage Conspiracy people.

Does anyone have any recommendations of where I should start? I'd like to start pretty quickly.

Oh, I also was a member of Wealthy Affiliate for a while to learn the article marketing stuff. There isn't much about ppc on those forums.

I think you should start by reading all the posts on the forum. Also follow the Jerry west thing so far it seems really good. Has great information. Also i would maybe learn some more about keyword research and just try promoting the products or site on adwords oveture and or MSN.

Thanks for the input. It's very appreciated. I see you have a review for ppc-coach...what do you think? Is html really necessary to learn w/ a ppc-coach membership? Does he cover direct linking at all?

Sure, you can start without knowing any of that, but in the end, that's your toolbox and you can't get ahead without it. Unless you plan to simply outsource every aspect of your business model.
Well I know basic html, I understand FTP and webhosting. Don't know anything about PHP though. What I'm getting at is I'm not good at the creative aspect of designing a landing page. I can build one with some content...but it's probably not going to be the best looking site in the niche. I know a little bit about a lot of stuff...enough to know that I'd like to get more involved with CPA marketing.

I recommend Keith Baxter, fellow Warrior and award winner at one of Yanik's Underground Seminars in DC. I've met him in person a few times at IM events; he's an expert in the field.
