My 1st PPC Campaign is about to be launched - Few Final questions

Hi All,
I've decided to setting me up a goal and in a week to launch my 1st PPC campaign.
I'm totally newbie to paid traffic and after reading great Traffic-Blackbook I'm feeling much more ready but I have few more question though
I've decided to strart with Facebook because I've understand it's newbie-friendly and great platform to start with.
My questions are:
1. Should I choose for my 1st campaign US offers or International offers? Where is it better to start?
2. What kind of vertical should I go for? Low payout such zip/email submit or higher payout in specific big niche with big competition such dating/debt/biz op?
3. Where Can I take photos for using this ads? Can I just print-screen of several landing pages and crop it with Photoshop? Is it illegal? (I want to find at least 10 photos for a start)
4. I decided to start with Tracking202 for tracking the results. I tried to install Prosper202 on Godaddy hosting but it made me a lot of issues. Apparently they don't support shared hosting service and the hosting they offer is about 45$/month which is too expensive for me at the moment. Is it OK to use tracking 202 at the beginning and after I'll made some volumes to move to Prosper202?

Thanks all for your answers!!
Hope they will give me the final push to jump into the water

Just start somewhere... doesn't really matter. More than 1 road leads to Rome.

  • I'd stick with your home country for initial testing. Facebook has been really tough for marketers to make work, might want to try search or Tier 2 search portals which are much cheaper (relative to Google). Istockphoto.com is where we get our site photos, screenshots and cropping is not legit...

    Good luck

I would advise that you go with international traffic . It is comparatively cheap and less competitive .

    Thanks for your answers.
Is it easier to start with big high-competitive niche or with small one?

talbrice, It's all in the research mate, i see so many people start out and they don't do their homework, launch a campaign and it fails miserably and they give up. Being new your going to fail several times unless your extremely lucky, to reduce that risk, research everything you can, and test test test. I would advise you to lean towards something thats a little less competitve, for e.g. Dont start off trying to promote payday loans or credit based stuff. It's way over saturated and is very difficult. However, depending on what you want to do, you might try a lesser known product to try and promote.

As far as international goes, most affs turn an eye to these goldmines. I've never had an international campaign completely and utterly fail myself. It was a lot easier to tweak and make a good return with these offers. Given that, dont expect every international offer to convert the same. Not to sound repetitive, always remember your research, and tweak it till you maximize your ROI.

    Cheers!
