First Facebook Ad + CPA Campaign

Hey guys,

I have a quick question for all you Facebook Ad experts out there. I have been playing around with the bidding and I can't seem to get CPC to work. The suggested bid for my targeting is $0.14 - $0.27. I bid $0.45 and I am not getting any traffic at all!! My ads have been approved for hours and they are not being delivered.

On the other hand, I tried CPM (suggested $0.3 - $0.8), I bid $0.10 and it gets delivered. My CTR for that was 0.025% (my best performing ad) but I decided to switch to CPC because it would be cheaper.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong with CPC and why it is not being delivered?

You have to give more than a few hours of time for the ads to start showing and receiving traffic. Remember, your ads compete with millions of others.

A few ads in the same price range took me 2 days to start seeing traffic. Sit tight! And give yourself a high enough daily budget to guarantee some sort of priority placements!

    TWO DAYS!?

I'll just up my bid...I work on CPA part time now and I can't wait 2 days to collect data lol. Thanks for the heads up though.

I just up'd my bid to .15 CPM. Hopefully my ads will get delivered.

What do you guys think is a good guideline to start cutting ads? I was thinking after 5,000 views, if it doesn't get 1 click, I would cut the ad & if it is at 10k views, the ad is not at 0.02% I would cut the ad.

    What do you think?

It could be the bid, but I have seen some ads taking a day or 2 to start running. I really do not know exactly why it happens, but it does sometimes.

Try to wait 48h with the ads active and see if FB starts delivering them.

Some ads take a little bit to start running. But if it has been 2 days, I would up the bid some more, Facebook Ad's CPC estimator isn't perfect. You may have to raise the bid a lot higher.

Always like to split test between CPM and CPC.

I think this a decent plan of action, the only issue with Facebook is its such a HUGE market, .02% might be amazing CTR with some niches and awful in other niches. CTRs aren't even completely standard to niches, they are based on the targeting within the niche as well. It isn't as clear as on Plenty of Fish.

What is your offer type and payout ... maybe I can provide better insight?

Some ads do take a while to start running even after they are approved. My last ad was approved about 4 hours ago and i'm still waiting for it to go to work.

Just experiment, but it shouldn't take two days for the ad to start running.

It might be a little off topic but id work on the ad to try to get that ctr up (whether you trying CPC Or cpm)
