The offer was BestQuotes.com - New Car Quotes - Pays $8.00 a Lead
The traffic source was Lead Impact
I used a simple landing page
I Picked keywords and URLs around buying cars

Here's the merchants page




Here's the first page of the keywords from Lead Impact that were used




The landing page was made to look very similar to the merchants page, just optimized for the PPV Window size.

The campaign was profitable during December but died off into January.

      Very great share...So you said the landing page was made similar to the offer page. Does this mean it was just a simple click to the offer page.

      I have seen similar where the landing page says something like "Attention Ford Visitor" You may be Approved for an Instant Loan Click Here to Apply...

        Yes, it mirrored the landing page of the merchant, in this campaign I just kept it simple. You can do many things to increase the ctr like call out the visitors location, call our the target, etc

      The merchant didn't update there homepage and left December holiday deals on there so I believe that may have played a roll

      Roi ended up being around 20-25%, profit was just over $100 after everything (pausing non-converting targets, etc).

      I'm sure that it could have gotten better if the lp was better optimized and different backend offers were tested

      I agree, I'm sure with most testing and optimization this could have gone up, I just didn't take it any further due to the rapid drop of conversions in jan

      Whoa...you're missing out on a lot of money then! Some of my biggest net profit campaigns have been around 20-30% ROI. You have to think in terms of volume.

        Yes, I agree I never leave money on the "table" I've had plenty of smaller campaigns that I use to pay my bills month to month.

        BTW great share Chris, I really shows not to over think things much, keep things simple, and test.

            If you bid on .google.com - you will only get traffic for google.com
            If you bid on google.com - you will get traffic from any url that ends in google.com, examples: ilikegoogle.com, timetogoogle.com, getgoogle.com, google.com, etc

    When I start any campaign I look for anything above breakeven. To me that means it has legs. Then after a while if it's a tiny ROI, I drop it and move on. However if after tweaking I can get it up there, I keep it running.

    btw what hoting and tracking app do you use for LP?
    i know for a fact PPV traffic can be fast and a proper hosting and tracking in place is mandatory, any insights?
