hi warriors
just getting to start teespring fb camp. i have very original designs but i am worried they will be stolen by more expereinced marketers.
I KNOW TEESPRING SHARES DESIGNS WITH THE WHOLE WORLD.
MY QUESTIONS:

At the end of the day you can go all the way and copyright it however thats a long drawn out process for a simple design thats on a one off tee or hoodie.

Teespring are cottoning on to people copying designs and as long as you can prove that yours was the first design then they will stop the other campaign however you have to catch them copying it. Teespring wont do it automatically.

Its the same in any copyright case. A simple C&D letter and they stop. However the chances are they have already profited from it, and its up to you if you wish to chase them for money.

There's no way to do that unless you own a trademark or copyright. Even so, they still apparently don't care unless it gets reported. Just look at all the Broncos and Seahawks campaigns. They know damn well those logos are trademarked.

They need to come up with a code that can be embedded into webpage. That way, we could host and use our own landing pages and keep it from appearing on teeview or hide the fact that it's even a teespring campaign.

the best way to protect your design is to become an experienced marketer yourself .

Actually you have it backwards. The experienced marketers are the ones who get their campaigns jacked.

The money is in the traffic though, not the design.

The quote comes to mind - "Good Artist Copy. Great Artists Steal". You can't lose sleep over people copying your designs .. C&D letter is sufficient in most cases. Seeing Teespring is clamping down on infringement, you really should't worry too much.

The answer to that is really simple. If design is really good, than you are, as the first one to start the campaign is in the best position to make the most profit. The audience's interest vanes quite quickly, so anybody who is trying to copy you, will come on to the dry end of hype.

And if you are really good, you'll come up with next best design. And be in the front of the pack again.

I've had about 30 copied so far. People see results in those spy tools and think it's just a matter of copying the design. It's not. There's WAY more to it then just copying a design.

Do you check if there are similar to your designs running targeting the same audience before you start your own campaign?

Nope. You can over analyze yourself to death. There is no such thing as a perfect condition to launch any campaign. I just launch it and let the real numbers show.
