How To Get Strong One-Way Links
By Susanne Myers
Could you use more traffic to your site? Then listen up as I’m sharing the two most effective link building strategies I am using week in and week out to generate tons of quality traffic to my site and improve my SEO rankings across the board. If you do nothing else, you will still see more traffic to your site, more subscribers to your lists and most importantly more sales.
Link Building Strategy – Article Marketing
Article marketing is something most of us are familiar with and while this strategy has been pronounced dead several times over the past years, it’s still one of my main sources of traffic and more importantly continues to build strong one-way links for me.
A great way to start is to come up with a list of 10 to 15 most frequently asked questions around your niche or market. Then just answer each question in about 400 to 500 words and submit each as an article to your favorite article directory. I recommend you rotate through the following:
- EzineArticles.com
- ArticleBase.com
- ArticleSnatch.com
- LadyPens.com (for women writers only)
If this sounds a little intimidating, focus on just EzineArticles.com and submit every article you write there. It’s the biggest and strongest article directory out there.
Link Building Strategy – Guest Blogging
Next, go out and find 10 to 20 quality blogs in your market. You may already know what some of them are. If you don’t take a look at Technorati and search for blogs under one of your main keywords or in the category that best describes your niche.
Once you have the list, start becoming active on each blog by commenting on posts once or twice a week. After a few weeks of doing this, the blog owners will come to recognize you as an active contributor. At that point, you can approach them via email or a quick phone call and see if they would be interested in a blog post from you.
Write a great post that will fit in well with their style and audience, including one to two links back to your site within the content or at the end of your post. Submit it to the blog owner. Once the blog post goes live, you should see a nice boost of traffic immediately. At that point, promote your post by bookmarking it via your favorite social bookmarking sites, tweet it, tell your list about it etc. Not only will this increase the strength of your link, it will also send the blog owner some additional traffic, making him or her more likely to accept future guest posts by you. For the same reason you want to keep an eye on comments on your guest post and reply to them.
Set aside a little time this week to give both of these link building strategies a try. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of traffic they will send your way.
