3 PPV Mistakes to Avoid
- ARTICLES |
So now that you have a general idea of what PPV is, here are the 3 biggest mistakes people make:
1) You Don't Need a Landing Page
This is a hard concept for PPC marketers to grasp because it has been so engrained into their thinking. Most PPC marketers need a custom landing page so they don't get flagged by Facebook or Google for direct linking to their site. Not the case with PPV! You can direct link to any ad because it is a pop-over or pop-under. All you need to do is to plug in your affiliate link and you are ready to go.
2) Keyword Research
Another big mistake marketers make is that you put in a lot of keywords to see which ones stick. You don't need to do that with PPV. And if you did do that with PPV, you would go through money like water! All you need to do is to Google the keyword you are targeting and use the first 5 websites' URLs and you are good. They key is to start slowly and then if your campaign is profitably, you can increase the amount of URLs. But be careful. Always increase your keywords and URLs S-L-O-W-L-Y or else you can lose your shirt.
3) Offer Selection
PPV is a different kind of animal. The offers you think are going to be gold are terrible and the terrible ones turn out to be gold. You never know, so what you need to do is to try ALL the offers. Go to your CPA network and test everything that allows pop-ups or contextual ads. You can have up to 500 campaigns on TrafficVance.com and I suggest you work on as many campaigns as possible.
So those are my 3 tips for PPV. I hope you found them helpful.
