WordPress-blog affiliate links marketing

I have a WordPress-based blog-layout site that I'm using to promote mostly textual links to products. I only have a handful of products and I'm not sure I have the ability to write lengthy articles for all the products. I'm wondering how I can increase the site's SEO or otherwise drive some more traffic. The site address is www dot splyndid dot xyz

It is against the rules to post your link here - which you seem to have understood. I'm leaving that site reference because others may learn from it.

You don't have anything there to 'increase' - whether you are asking about SEO or traffic or sales. You have posted five 3-6 LINE posts that say 'buy this'. In one week in January you set up a blog, added 5 posts with a total of 300 or so words to the site....and nothing since.

To be effective, a site/blog must have a purpose - a plan - be targeted to a specific audience - have something to recommend it. It's more than finding a few affiliate links and saying 'buy this'. What was your goal in setting up the site in January?

You can learn a lot by reading on this forum - the SEO section is a good place to start - as is the 'warrior path' link below that gives you an idea of what is required over time.

The very first thing you should do is register a .com, that
would be my advice. Until you do that, anything else that
you do is just wasting your efforts.

With all due respect, I disagree about .com part very strongly

I like actionable names that contain all the info in the address along side with purpose and what people can expect there. If it happens to be .com - great, if not - no big deal!

You can easily gain trust and ranks by... well, for instance, extending registration to 3-5 years and that's just the start.

Names like "learn piano dot online" come to mind or "healthy home cooking dot blog" - kinda says it all and works great for me.

Now, the blog. Oh well, where do I start?

      1. no SSL on webserver = no ranking;
      2. thin content = no ranking;
      3. no defined purpose of the blog - you're all over the place = no ranking;

Chin up, you should have seen my first blogs It's a great start!

      Actionable stuff:

      1. Stop wasting time and going after all things at same time (batteries + WP themes + what else you had there) and figure out niche for yourself. I recommend sticking with what you enjoy and know and have opinion about. Money will come along way fast once you know what you're writing about and do it on a daily basis.

      2. Work it in your daily routine "coffee -> write post -> share on social media" Even if done by hand, should not take more than 2h/day for 3k word post. Find the time of the day when you "feel like doing this" and mark it for this thing alone.

      3. Foxy tactics like content curation will save you time and you will have topics for a new posts All the time. How? Simple - you like a post, have opinion or disagree about something, syndicate whole or parts of it on your site, include ALL necessary copyright info and add on top your own opinion. Worked 10 years ago, works now.

      4. Search/learn/repeat - do not invent wheel, use it instead. Pretty much everything you want on your site exists in one form or another. Find site you like, cooking blog/music - does not matter, study how it is built, implement tactics.

      5. Learn. Buy books/courses on topics you do not know. Udemy and Coursera can teach you pretty much anything and the rest is on YT/DM/Vimeo

      Most importantly. Keep Doing!

A journey of thousand miles begins with but a step!

In affiliate marketing, you choose a product related to your blog niche, create product awareness, and then when somebody buys a product using your affiliate link, you receive a referral commission from it. Affiliate Marketing Is a Huge Opportunity
But only if you know what you're doing. That means jumping in and expecting money to fall on your lap is foolhardy.

Just like any other type of industry, you can't dive into the deep end without first getting your feet wet.

Study up on what affiliate marketing is about via these top blogs, then figure out if it's a doable option for increasing your income.

First I want to congratulate you for taking action! You've got your website up and found affiliate products to promote.

Now, ask yourself.. what would you do if you had landed on that webpage either from a Google search or perhaps clicking a PPC ad?

Do you offer any quality information on your blog?

You need to treat your visitors with respect and offer them something for their time, and earn their trust. Copying and pasting affiliate promotion text won't get you very far. Try to think more in terms of what pain or problems do you offer solve for the visitor? Focus on that. Write several posts only on how they can solve their problem by purchasing the product. Use different angles and write quality text as if talking to your best friend. You wouldn't sell crap to your best friend? Would you?

Finally, I would select a niche you feel comfortable with and keep consistent. It seems like you have randomly selected a few affiliate offers and just slammed them on your blog. Think about which of the offers you have the most trust in and that can be thought of as belonging in the same nniche. Try to build something around that.

Consistency and building trust would be my primary advice at this point.

To be fair, I did exactly the same thing when starting out. Don't give up, you'll get there by being persistent.

To increase your serp/traffic you need to start building the links, put high-quality content and target the right keywords.

Can you please tell me what keywords your articles are based on?
Do you write the content yourself or your outsource?
Have you built/bought some backlinks or some seo package?

For sure you will not find more SEO than this entirely and clearly anyway for whatever possible reasons out there, I do want to recommend you still to write cool solid articles cause it's really the key everywhere else entirely.

I did not visit your site but I would ask this question. Do you use the products you are selling? The reason I ask is, if you are using them and believe in them so much, how could you not go on and on about them? I sell products that I can discuss for days. Products that I use and believe in so much, I create 1,000+ word blog posts weekly.

That aside, are the products in a niche where people are buying? Are they aligned with things that are trending?

Thirdly, do you have a well defined audience? Are you speaking to people who have a problem and you have the solution?

Lastly, do you have a way for people to subscribe to a list where you can send automated emails promoting your various products?

I would maybe focus on one thing at a time. Find the one you are passionate about that solves a problem and get really good at selling it. Then, add the next product and repeat.

He could, but he would also completely lose the personal connection to his readers.

Never forget that people buy from people.

Work it in your day by day schedule "espresso - compose post - share via web-based networking media" Even whenever done by hand, ought not to take more than 3h/day for 3k to 4k word post. Discover the time when you "want to do this" and imprint it for this thing alone.
It's good to you are able to write lengthy articles helping you with the backlink. Affiliate marketing is a good option for increasing sales by creating a product.

What problems do the people you target have (that are related to your niche)?

You do not have to write lengthy posts; you have to write posts that show them how to fix one of the problems.

    Dating niche example:

target audience: shy/introverted young men who've spent too much time on games and not enough around ladies.

problem: they're lonely, want a date but do not know how to get one

    solution: your posts.

Post #1: how to start up conversations with strangers, including gorgeous women: 10 steps

Post 2: how ask women out in 3 simple steps

Post 3: how to have women chase you (7 steps)

Post 4: 5 mistakes men make when picking up their date the first time, and what to do instead

Post 5: 3 mistakes men make when they approach a woman

That's enough posts. Now you need to drive traffic to them.

Later, then you write more posts.

Post 6: 10 great pickup lines from the movies
Post 7: 10 great activities for a first date.
Post 8 10 xxxx (lists, lists, lists)

    Drive traffic them.

I know you write blogs with SEO in mind, but you do not tons of posts for SEO to work... You need a few good one (or one awesome one), and then you market it (i.e., put the content inf front of people who might be interested in linking to it).
