Why is traffic not growing on my blog?

I have created this blog since 2015. It has some some 600 articles. But the traffic is barely 200, and that is coming from blogarama. The organic traffic is about a dozen.

I have applied many things like changing to a fast-loading theme, I use keywords to write articles which when submitted to Google Search Console generally gets indexed in a few hours to 2 days maximum.

I have no security and manual actions.

What can the problem be?
#blog #growing #traffic

How engaged are you with social media? Are you posting links to things that people want to know about and growing your base (and most important, NOT just posting links to your stuff)?

As tough as writing a blog is, you real job is marketing it. Without promotion, you stand little chance of increasing traffic. "Build it and they will come" only works in the movies!

My only engagement with social media is to post to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest anytime I make a blog post. I don't even know things that people want to know about. I post links from my affiliate marketing blog hoping people will like them.

I just came to the realization that marketing my blog is important. I saw years ago the 80/20 rule, but did not try to apply it. I will promote my blog now. Thanks.

That seems to be the real problem. People are only interested in what they are interested in. Before you can get them interested in what you have to say, you need to start sharing the things that they want to hear about.

What are those things? Well, if I was selling baseball gloves, I'd probably want to share articles from places that had fielding tips. If I was selling drones, I might share great drone footage that others have posted or articles about FAA regulations that may affect the industry. If I was selling themed dog jewelry, I'd be sharing all kinds of things about dogs.

Who is your target audience (there is likely more than one)? Put yourself in their shoes and try to think of what they like. If you have trouble doing that, head to forums to see what they are talking about or visit the top sites in that niche and see what they are posting on social media.

Your goal is to grow your following at first, NOT to automatically think everyone is into the things you write about on your blog. Give them what THEY want to see. Maybe every 5-7 posts, mix in something of yours but if all you ever do is talk about yourself and your blog, you are the most boring person at the party.

Finally, when posting on social media, don't forget to give props to the people that wrote/posted the thing you are sharing - on Twitter especially. Use hash tags for popular terms and definitely don't forget to use someone's @twitterhandle when sharing something they created. It will automatically get noticed by that person who may follow you out of courtesy (it happens a lot). Because your Twitter posts are all being followed by them, they may occasionally re-tweet something you have shared, exposing you to all of their followers. Some of them will follow you, and so on, and so on ...

Social sharing and repurposing content will help get you some extra traffic. You can also try linking back to content in your archives and also updating dated content.Jf you had an email list you could share your links with your list as well. Have you tried analyzing your website to help configure the bugs ?

Do you have a YouTube channel? Facebook group? Both of these can be huge assets in growing your following online. Also is your website optimized ? I'd look into SEO (search engine optimization) techniques. Also back links and paid advertising will help you as well.

  • Optimized it also by promoting products in social media like Facebook. This will be helpful especially these days to get some links toward to your main page or site.

Is your website optimizer for SEO? If not, that should be the first thing you must sort out. Then start writing content and publish as much pages on your website as possible. Also make sure you have the "share it" buttons so you can share your content.
    Good luck

First thing you need to do is optimize your blog in terms of on page SEO. Next thing you can do is try to promote on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc from where you can get more engagement rate. Also, try to promote to right audience.
