Content writing and copywriting aren't the same thing so moved the thread.

How many freelance sites do you belong to - how many 'bids' do you place daily for jobs on freelance sites?

Where do you advertise? Do you have aportfolio complete with reviews from previous customers?

You can place an ad here in the 'for hire' section of the Marketplace. Unless or until you have an established group of repeat customers...hustling for work is as important as producing quality writing on time.

Definitely register on the freelancer platforms. The other thing you can try is finding some sites to write some free posts for and see if they will then take you on to do paid posts for them. By giving something in the beginning, you may just be able to land a paid position.

We had a recent similar question. My belief from having done it myself is finding your own clients is the best way to go about it. I explain in the thread.

As many have suggested start by registering on all the Freelance sites [ mentioned in an earlier post ]
Also to add credibility add an image of any certification you may have . You mention being a professional writer , so cahnces are you have some sort of certification . Make mention of it on any of the Freelance sites .

Sometimes it is best to choice a niche rather than write about everything . People will than view you as a specialist , which is an advantage in getting jobs .

Create a Blog , and post content on there so when people do a Google search on you , they can see what you are about and your writing skills

    All the best

Yes this is a good point and reminded me: if you're registering on freelancer sites, try to complete as much of their profile and requirements on skills and experience that you may have as this will help you get eyes on you. Also, be sure to reply to any jobs with a personalized approach and I don't mean just using the persons name at the beginning of your proposal letter; refer directly to their project requirements in your offer as that'll catch their attention.

During the pandemic, more people are willing to try side hustles.

A report from CouponBirds states that from 2021 to 2022, the traffic to freelancing platforms is continuing to surge and more and more people are taking side jobs.

That means it's not easy to get jobs and clients as before since you have plenty of competitors now.

Therefore, besides the freelance platforms like Upwork, freelancer, and Fiveer, you need to attract
employers or editors through other channels.

You can follow some of their social accounts like Twitter, there may be a pitch or story mission required.
Commenting on some of their tweets with your ideas will also be a good method to promote yourself.

    Hi Ibossky,

I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but depending on the type of content you write, Fiverr is another place you may be able to find work.
