The Russians Are Coming...
Posted 20th August 2008 at 12:26 PM by Alton Hargrave
"The Russians are coming!" This exclamation expressed what was a great fear after "the War", then it turned into a sort of joke. Twenty years ago, it appeared that our fears were unfounded after all. And, my feeling is that the Russian people themselves are not a threat to anyone. But, their leaders are a threat and one that apparently caught us off guard these last two weeks.
Putin is an old KGB officer and is still in charge. He would like to revert Russia back into it's old days of the USSR. And, he has started. If you don't see that, take a closer look. History is once again repeating itself. Georgia was the first to go. Russia has no intention of giving it up. Why would they? They only respect force and there is none to worry about. We, the USA, are doing nothing. Sending supplies such as food is fine if they need it, but if they are truly our allies, as we say, why end there?
Lets give the Russians three days to get out of Georgia and I mean all of them should be out. Meanwhile, we move our forces in and prepare to physically rout them out. I know. No one wants to start WW3. Well, I see it starting whether we want it to or not, if we take no action. President Kennedy handled it in a forceful manner and that is what we must do today. This problem is not going away. On the contrary, it is growing. Russia is looking for an excuse to take further action. Now, they are rattling swords because we entered into an agreement with Poland. This is just the way bully powers operate. Papers mean nothing to them. Before WW2, Hitler signed a promise to never attack Great Britain. It meant nothing to Hitler and was broken in months.
Sometimes, more is needed than just diplomacy. This...is one of those times!
