How To Turn Boring Headers Eye-grabbing

Here's something to consider...
When I visit Gmail, there's a ticking counter there on the login screen stating how much space has been added...
When I visit Clickbank, there's a ticking counter there on the main screen stating how much money has been paid out...
When I take the train out, there's a ticking counter on a tower stating how much time has passed after the midnight hour...
Even though these sites and things are there all the time, I don't mind paying attention to them because something's always changing there.
But when it comes to headers of my frequently visited sites and blogs, I naturally skip it because... well... there's nothing new there.
Even if the site owner had spent good money on making the header look good, I ignore it after once.
But every time I log in to my mail, I see Google. Every time I visit Clickbank, I see money paid out. Each time I see that digital clock tower, I see its brand.
If attention is the currency of today's age, this little trick ought to be applied... even if its just simple branding.
