How to find the right affiliate program for you

When you start off with affiliate marketing it is always a good idea and highly encouraging if you start to see results in the shortest possible time. It is for this reason that I advise that you take care with regard to the affiliate program or programs that you choose to promote, especially when you are starting out.
I would go with an affiliate network such as cj.com as all of the affiliate payments are lumped together and paid every month and they are are also extremely reliable.
Some of the smaller affiliate programs have high payment thresholds and unfortunately some of these threshold can be quite high. There is nothing quite so off putting as when the euphoria dies off of having made a couple of sales and earning say $60 only to find that you need to make $200 before you can receive a payment.
I would also look at promoting some of the more reputable affiliate programs such as Amazon or Ebay. Each one of these programs has a massive range of products for you to promote and they also offer you many excellent tools to help with your sales. They both have forums in the affiliate area from which you can get some cutting edge advice from and some of the top earners are making a great deal of money.
The minimum payment are quite reasonable and you can be safe in the knowledge that you are working with reputable companies.
