Website Traffic Generation For 2012
My goal, like many Internet Marketers, is to improve my efforts at website traffic generation for 2012. As we all know, traffic is one of the biggest factors of online success, and also one of the biggest challenges.
Over the past year, I’ve been trying and testing a variety of the most common and recommended methods of getting more traffic. Social Networking and article marketing seem to produce the most noticeable and immediate results.
The added advantage to article marketing is the fact that good articles well-placed in directories can keep on producing for months and years to come.
The big benefit of Social marketing is that in addition to driving immediate traffic to your site, you are also building your online brand. Branding yourself as a knowledgeable expert or dependable source for whatever your targeted prospects are looking for is, of course, another important piece of the online marketing puzzle.
I am also active in a couple of online business and marketing forums. The success of website traffic generation through forums depends on the popularity of the forum and on how well you establish yourself as an active contributor in that forum.
The Warrior Forum is a good example. The more active I am in the various discussion threads here, the more traffic I see on my website. You can monitor the difference day by day. When I get busy doing other things and neglect to make my appearance here in the WF, I see a definite difference in my traffic stats.
Another important technique to help get more free website traffic is optimization of your website and content. In other words, Search Engine Optimization, or SEO.
SEO has become a much bigger challenge over the past year as the popular search engines work to make changes to produce better results for users. In the process, they have also been adjusting their algorithms to try to prevent, discourage or penalize certain questionable SEO practices. Unfortunately, even legitimate, honest and sincere marketers have been affected negatively by these attempts.
However, dedicated Internet Marketers must stay focused and determined on building their businesses and must not be discouraged or deterred by any setbacks or roadblocks that may occur. That’s just part of doing business and you have to roll with it.
Your best bet for website traffic generation success is to use a variety of popular methods so you don’t get hung or hurt by any one method that suddenly lets you down. Challenges for 2012
Hey, thanks for your comment on my blog and best of luck to you too with your goals for 2012. I liked your article on forums by the way. From what I've read they've definitely taken a hit since social media came along but I think like email there will aways be a place for them. Plus with forums being more integrated with social media, single sign-in and sharing capabilities, forums still seem like a great opportunity when done right. I hope so anyway, I'm launching one soon (in a non-IM niche).
