Overcoming Barriers to Achievement
I am a big fan of motivational quotes, personal development and any kind of inspiration that helps us in overcoming barriers to achievement in our lives. Since I am interested in themes of this nature, it stands to reason that I am also a fan of training materials provided by Brian Tracy.
My shelves contain a number of Brian’s audio programs, and I often highlight some of his topics and resources in my various blog posts.
In a recent post titled, Keys to Removing Barriers to Achievement, I include a few of Brian’s quotes and offer a bit of explanation about each. For the benefit of Warrior Forum members, I will briefly touch on three of the quotes, here.
Quote #1: “The surest road to wealth is to start and build a successful business of your own.”
I appreciate this quote because so many people get trapped into jobs that they don’t like and they get lulled into thinking they have no alternative. But they do! Brian encourages us to start a business and work at making it successful. If we are diligent in learning the business and committed to sticking with it, we will enjoy financial success.
Quote #2: “Willingness to risk failure is a measure of your desire to be rich. To succeed faster, double your failure rate.”
Nothing is guaranteed in life; everything is a risk. But one thing is for sure: if you never take risks, you never make progress. Do not be afraid of making mistakes and failing sometimes. That is how you learn and grow.
Quote #3: “Successful entrepreneurs analyze risk carefully and avoid it as much as possible.”
The more experience you get, the better you get at analyzing the risks and making better choices to avoid future failure. In the beginning, you will probably make more mistakes. If you learn from these, as time goes on you will probably experience more successes.
Bottom line here is if you want to enjoy great personal and business success in life, you’ve got to step out, push past your comfort zone and work at overcoming barriers to achievement that may be holding you back. Read or listen to inspirational and motivational materials regularly and pump up both your knowledge and your confidence.
