Check This Google Browser Size Tool

You’ve probably heard experienced Internet Marketers mention the importance and value of content and page elements that are positioned “above the fold” on your web pages. But how do you know exactly what parts of YOUR web pages are truly above the fold?

Now you can find out, using the new Google browser size tool recently made available. Equipped with the information this tool will reveal to you, you will be able to better optimize the content on your website.

This tool is all the more valuable because of the wide range of devices that people are using these days to access the web. Screen sizes and browser capabilities vary, so this new tool from Google will come in very handy.

As usual, I have written about this in greater detail in my APC blog, in the post titled Website Analysis Tool: Browser Size, but for the benefit of Warrior Forum blog readers, here are a few details and highlights.

You will find this new feature in your Google Analytics account. Just log in, go to the Content section and then click the In-Page Analytics link. Next, click the Browser Size tab and you will see your website homepage with a coloured overlay showing you exactly what part of your page is above the fold and what part is below.

Once there, a variety of clickable analytic elements are available to you, such as what percentage of visitors can actually see certain sections of your page.

In my APC blog post, I include a few more details about this as well as a link to the Google blog post that explains the tool more thoroughly.

The Google browser size tool may seem a bit complicated and confusing when you first look at it, and trying to explain it here without proper graphics just doesn’t help at all. But if you log in to your Google Analytics, navigate to the tool and experiment with it for a few minutes, you will soon begin to see (and understand) some of the cool features it has to offer. Check it out!
