Offer Deals & Coupons

One of the most important strategies that brick and mortar stores usually offer are special discounts, deals and coupons. This has proven to be very effective in the physical world and it also has the same effect online. If you want to get more customers and persuade people to complete the checkout process, you need to make your products more appealing by offering special deals and discounts.

All you have to do is have a special section on your website for promotions, discounted items and coupon codes. It is important that this section is highlighted and easy to find so that people can easily take advantage of it. Another great strategy that you should implement is that when a person clicks on a specific product, you should have a list underneath with other suggested products at lower price points. If that person can't afford that product, they will most likely choose one of the suggested products at the lower price, and you will get another sale.

Forget About Registration

One of the main problems many consumers have when it comes to shopping online is that they are usually presented with a registration form when in the middle of checking out their shopping cart. This is extremely frustrating and annoying for many customers and quite a few end up abandoning the shopping cart as a result of this. So, you should definitely stop requiring new customers to fill out a registration form when they checkout. Instead, you can present the form after they have made the purchase, so that it doesn't prevent them from abandoning the shopping cart.

Alternatively, if you need some sort of information in order to complete the checkout, you could simply require their email address as an identifier. Many large online retail companies like Walmart have implemented this, so it will definitely pay off if you do the same on your online store. After all, if you make the payment process easier on the customer, they will be more likely to complete the process and successfully check out.

In closing, if you follow some of the strategies and guidelines above, I am certain that you can significantly reduce the number of people that abandon the shopping cart on your website. These are all relatively simple changes that will have a huge impact on your earnings, so it is definitely worth the effort.
