Time = Money?
Posted 3rd June 2011 at 11:17 PM by Jeremy Barker
We have all heard the saying “Time is Money” but have you ever thought in depth into what is being said in that statement?
That is literally saying that one must trade their time for money. That is what most people thrive upon. They work a job and in exchange for their time spent for an employer, they are paid a certain wage. Most are taught from an early age in this country that the plan is to get an education so you can get a good job. In exchange for the hours put into this job you get a paycheck. During these hours you are away from your family and in most cases the person doesn’t even really enjoy what they are doing.
It doesn’t have to be like this but it depends on you to make a change.
I heard on a training call from John Jackson, who is the Vice President of Leadership Development for Carbon Copy PRO,
“Time is Time and Money is Money. You can have and enjoy both”
-John Jackson
Think about it for a second and the simple logic behind this. Time is not money and money is not time. Simple enough, huh? But so many people have this backwards because of lack of interest, ignorance, and/or the list could keep going.
What would life be like for you if you could do something that you enjoyed while having the money and the time available to you. Would you spend more time with your family and children? Would you travel the world? Just what would it be like if you had time and money and were not trading most of your valuable time for a little bit of money.
The majority of people in the world are only paid a small fraction of what they are worth. That is a known fact. It is this way because people let others decide how much they are worth instead of taking action and building their own empire.
What about you? Are you one that lets someone else set their fate or are you one that takes action or are interested in taking action to better themselves?
