How Does Content Curation Work?

Maybe the question used to be "to be or not to be", but the question I've been asked the most often lately is how does content curation work and will it help me get 1st page traffic?
1st let's answer what is content curation shall we?

Content curation in a nutshell is using other people's website content on your own website and yes, this does help you make it on the first page of Google and other search engines and no, this is not property theft, (at least if you do it right it isn't).

What content curators do is organize content on their websites to make it easy for their website visitors to find. They act sort of like a librarian for other people's website content. There are 3 types of content on a website that uses content curation.
  1. Aggregated Content
  2. Curated Content
  3. Created Content

How does this help your website with search engine optimization?

Well since Google's algorithm changes and with Yahoo and Bing following suit and using LSI, Latent Semantic Indexing, using content that is "related" to your website's topic will help it outrank other websites.

It takes a lot less time to curate a post than it does to create one, so you can get a lot more content on your website a lot faster.

If you happen to be one of those people that think they can't write so they've never tried to get a website on the front page of search engines, content curation is the answer.
