Offline Wealth
Posted 6th August 2008 at 03:16 PM by Keith Boisvert
So you want to earn some personal wealth in the offline marketplace? Good for you. Nothing against affiliate marketing, ebooks, adsense etc, but when you sit down and think about it, instead of fighting online for some money that comes straggling in, Offline Wealth is a much better solution.
Why?
Offline Wealth is a more lucrative endeavor because it’s literally in your own backyard. You still need to know what the hell you are doing, or at least sound like it (you can outsource what you can’t do), but you have a virtual goldmine all around you.
Is it easy? No. Nothing worht having is easy, but to me it’s much easier than struggling online with other programs. Nothing against the “guru’s” of the online world, more power to them. But we all have to admit to ourselves that their cases are not the norm, but the exception.
There are so many ways to tackle the offline world (brick and mortar), that you will never run out of businesses. Now, the problem is that YOU have to do the work still. You need to be able to deal with clients face to face.
Before you click away after the “face to face” comment, you need to realize that it’s not as difficult as you may think. Ok, maybe you are not comfortable talking to biz owners…who the hell is?! BUT, the more you do it, the more comfortable you will feel. Start small. Make a deal with yourself to hit at least one new business a day. Talk. Be prepared of course, but talk and listen. The more you do this the easier it will get, and most importantly, it will build up your confidence.
So what if 50 people tell you to get lost. No one will be mean, the worse they will say is that they are not interested. That’s not so bad is it? Don’t take it personally. It’s not you they are saying “No” to, it’s the service you are providing.
Offline Wealth is not for everyone. But for those of you that stick it through and dedicate yourself to making this work, you won’t have to work that hard. This businesses is like a freight train. Once you make a few hits, do a few sites, sign a few people of for advertising, the rest will follow. It builds momentum almost by itself via word-of-mouth.
I know this is kind of a random all over the place post, but it’s food for thought. The possibilities are mind boggling when you do the math. When you have a few minutes, grab your local phone book. Take a look at the businesses in your city alone that have ads. Not just a listing, but an ad. These cost money. Big money. Pick 5 or 10 of them and see if they have a website. Then go to those sites and take a look. Check the page source for their keywords. See if their site has any call to actions. Google the site’s keywords and see where they are in the results.
I guarantee out of what you look at, 80% of the sites suck big time. Which means…They NEED you. You just need to convince them of that.
So offline wealth is just a visit away. What the heck are you waiting for?? Go get ‘em!!!!!

Keith, you are right.
To me the beauty of working in an offline market is that the online marketplace is an unknown world to most offline businesses, even those in marketing and the knowledge one gain in online marketing is a valuable commodity.
In addition to the lack of knowledge and the cyberphobia of most businesspeople you also have the lack of marketing knowledge and skills of most web designers working in your favour.
