Ranking Videos Vs Authority Channel

These are basically the two types of business models
there are with Youtube...with several variations of each.

So which is better?

Well, the idea with ranking videos is you
don't make as many videos...and if you rank
for a great keyword, that one video
can make you a ton of the green stuff.

And you can do this over several niches.

If you go the authority channel route,
the idea is to create content consistently
so that you build an subscriber base.

The first business model is good for quicker
sales...and if you don't really have an interest
in the niche.

The authority model is a better longer term
and more stable business model
as long as you have an interest in that niche.

But...there is no rule that says you can't do both.

You can start a niche with the goal of building an
authority channel...and rank for buyer keywords
for certain videos in the process.

This way you get the best of both worlds.

Quick sales while building up an authority channel.
