Tutorial - How To Post An Effective Forum Thread
Posted 23rd September 2008 at 03:06 AM by Monetize
Okay people, listen up and pay attention. I
know that this is not grade school, but some
of you require serious assistance.
First off, please read the forum rules and do
your best to observe them.
Second, use the search engine feature of the
site to determine if someone has previously
posted your exact same question/comment.
This keeps the forum clutter-free and saves
you from looking like a moron.
When starting a new thread, think about your
content prior to creating it. If the discussion
is intended to be technical, get your facts
straight in advance.
Use a relevant subject line as most people are
busy and don’t have time to delve into threads
that are titled “Need Advice” “Could You . . .”
“I’m Helpless” and other mindless topics.
This is a professional marketing forum and you
need to get with the program. If you do not
know ANY-thing, observe and learn until you
grasp the concept.
Try to string your words together to form a
cohesive sentence. If English is your second
language, you are exempt from this rule. But
if you’ve spoken American English for more
than three years then this applies to YOU.
Include pertinent details in your post. Do not
just say “Help, my computer broke and I can’t
fix it,” but take a few minutes to provide some
specifics. What type of computer is it, what
software are you having problems with, what
happened to it (was it struck by lightning, did
you spill a milkshake on it), what steps have
you taken since it broke down, etc. This is
the sort of information that inquiring minds
need to know.
Please post your threads in the appropriate
forums. “Hi Hello, I’m Brand New Here” does
NOT belong in forums where serious business
is being discussed.
Proofread your thread prior to publishing it. If
you’ve been drinking liquor heavily then wait
until you are sober enough to finalize your
post. I promise you the world can wait for
your fabulous brain nuggets.
Don’t post all about your personal problems.
Everyone has rent/mortgage, car payments,
insurance bills, groceries are expensive, cash
flow issues, ClickBank refund/chargebacks,
slow affiliate paychecks, etc. Whining about
how your rent is due in three days and you
are totally broke right now will not evoke any
sympathy from anyone. You knew that your
rent would be due for an entire month; learn
how to budget your money and live within
your means.
If you need further guidance, LMK.
